Deep sixin' the big blue fishy
7 comments
I got a large stuffed fish a few years ago to use as a back rest when I was watching TV. I hate those little half chair things and regular bed pillows are not enough support.
Things went along swimmingly for awhile. It was comfy and easy to toss aside when I wasn't in the mood to float off in a TV daze. What I should have known was that when I wasn't using the backrest the cats were.
They slowly began to take it over. I would be plopped down in front of the TV, the fish behind my back. Snoogle would creep up and jam herself in next to me. Next day... more jamming and less fish. Slowly, paw by paw she ended up on top of the fish and I ended up jammed in next to her. I finally had to give up and replace the fish with a new back rest. The fish went into another room as an official cat bed. They all slept on it. They fought over who got to sleep on the best parts of it. If I wanted to find one of them I would just look on the fish. They all loved it....for awhile.
They must have gotten tired of it because it just sat. There were new surfaces to cover with hair. The big blue fish was forgotten and in the way. I doubt if any of them had used it in months. I would fluff it and set it out. They didn't care. Until I decided to get rid of it. I set it back on a table while I decided if I would try and give it away or just toss it in the trash.
I don't know if they read my mind or I just talk to myself WAY too much because now they are back to fighting over it.
I guess I'm stuck with it until they get bored again.

I love the pic of your kitty on the pillow. What beautiful cats!

You will give them ideas. So far I have been lucky and they haven't torn stuff up. Knock on wood (she said while thumping her head). Card board boxes don't last that long and the scratching tower has taken a beating but the stuffed critters and pillows are okay.
