Yes, something good has finally come from this miserable economic downturn. I'm also hoping that the overly inflated prices of property will continue to decrease as our funds inrease. Maybe then we'll get a new home more quickly.

We don't get the Daily News either. We get Newsday, but I'm usually days behind in reading it. Danny saw the article in a co-worker's paper. I may be working at the Guardian Program table with Elmo by my side, but I don't know if I can make it or not after all. I've already warned Laura that I may not be able to make it.

Erica goes to St. Francis Prep and she came down with the flu. She had a mild case and is doing much better, but we've been exposed. So far the rest of us are fine, but our allergies are kicking in so every little allergy misery is constantly questioned--is it the flu? As long as we don't have a fever, it's allergies. Still...

I hope Harry did well at the class.

Thanks for the good wishes. We've been increasing the number and type of our fundraising events, but they still won't get us to our goal in time. We're still counting on good-hearted individuals acting independently to help us get our new home.

Thank you. It would be really great if more people learned about us and our situation. The Daily News is one of the major newspapers in NYC. Times are really very tough for so many people, but if they know of our situation, maybe when things get better they might remember us and want to help, or adopt a dog or cat from us.

Yes, now that the pressure is off for the moment we'll be able to work even harder to raise the necessary funds. When you think the axe could drop at any moment, it's very discouraging knowing how far from your goal you really are. Now at least we have a chance.
