The newest member of our zoo, Skittles, has been allowed to sleep in the bed with us much to my amazement. I was really worried how my dogs would adjust to a new kitten but they all, especially Sugar, have been so accepting of him! The past several mornings I have woke up and Skittles is in bed with us cuddling with Sugar and pouncing on me to wake me up. He still goes upstairs when it's bedtime to sleep with Connor but sometime during the night he makes his way to my room. The only draw back is he is not a late sleeper like the rest of us and will pounce, play with my hair or lick me (I have never seen a cat that licks as much as he does) so we have all been getting up A LOT earlier than usual. He has also joined in on our many outings outside for playtime and has been so cute exploring the yard and chasing the dogs-makes me wonder if he thinks he is a dog! I also got him an engraved tag last night for his collar and he hasn't got use to his jingle yet and he jumps about 10 feet in the air sometimes when he hears it. With four animals now inside and all their collars and tags it sounds like Reindeer are in my house. The true test will be tonight when my husband gets home from work and he gets woke up by a lick or a pounce. He didn't mind Nacho sleeping with us after we got his gas problem under control so hopefully he won't mind Skittles. Keep your fingers crossed!
