Small fund raising idea

I noticed that people were throwing a ton of empty soda and beer bottles away a few summers ago. Placed a small chart next to my door with a sign that told people that I would return the bottles they left and donate all of the money to a local rescue group. I had about $100 by Labor day. I had a couple of people who started bringing home empties from work. This is a little time consuming for someone working on their own but it might be a nice group/family project. A large trash bag holds about $10-$17 worth of cans or bottles.
Just be careful with the storage. You don't what to get bugs.
