GREAT LOVING SHELTER

I thought Wayne Pacelle wanted to end the ownership of domestic animals i.e. pets. Eradicate dogs and cats as our family members?

The contest is a wonderful idea. I have noticed people asking questions and wondering how to help. The shelter has been put in such a positive position and now the public realize where it is, what you do and that it takes quite a bit of donations to care for the animals. One person I spoke with thought the state assisted. Please disregard any negative feed back. All of you are terrific !

I want to see a picture of Wayne and his pets not just a picture of Wayne. His pets would be a much better picture for the Humane Society. I am starting to get worried about the society. I have been hearing some bad things that I do not agree with. People need to start researching and see how much money goes to saving & sustaining animals and prosecuting abusers. I do not have a pit bull, but they are an animal that need to be protected, but unlike many others, I believe there should be NO breeding and that includes pit bulls!! I believe that "Do not breed or buy while shelter animals die".

I just entered both my doggies..Spike and Gizmo..even though they probably won't win maybe they can atleast raise a few bucks for the cause. :-)

OMG...I thought I might have a chance but the dachshund on this page is adorable!! No way...I take bad photos. My pets are super cute in person but they always blink!!

How happy am I about this contest? Well, considering H$U$'s feelings towards both pitt bulls and exotic pets, I am not thrilled. I don't have a Pitt Bull but unlike HSUS I believe in punishing the deed and not the breed. And I DO have exotic pets... including Sugar Gliders, a Turtle, and a Tortoise... NONE OF WHICH I am ALLOWED to enter pictures of for this contest. When I tried to enter a picture of Heber my male sugar glider (who is, by the way is a rescue AND is NEUTERED, and isn't that what SPAY DAY is really ABOUT?!) I was given THIS message:

"Regardless of the kind of pet you live with, we know he or she is your best friend. We also acknowledge and appreciate that you may have a pet that -- although not included in the eligible pet list below-- was rescued or rehabilitated. But, out of concern for wild animals who are either captured from the wild or bred in captivity, the Spay Day Online Pet Photo Contest is limited to the following pets: dog, cat, rabbit, certain equines*, hamster, gerbil, guinea pig, ferret, mouse, rat, canary, parakeet, cockatiel, zebra finch, society finch, lovebird, freshwater aquarium fish."

Thanks but no thanks, Wayne, my animals do NOT need your "concern." I researched the care of my critters fully and continue to do so. They have a home with me for life, full of enrichment, proper diet, and LOVE.

Wondeful idea!! Just entered my camera-magnet dog. Hope this contest generates a lot of funds for this important cause.
