The drab winter days are beginning to shuffle their way off of Buffalo. The sun came out for more than a tease and a little idea came with it.
How many of you have bought one of those card board sun guards for your car? You don't need to buy one of those long things that cover the entire front window. A smaller piece with a fold will cover your steering wheel and keep it cool. A smaller cover that is easy to make and can be used as a small fundraiser. Scrap card board is easy to find. Most of the stores in this area flatten boxes and have to get rid of the stuff. My guess is that they would be happy to help by letting a group take some for a project. The stuff could be cut to size by an adult and decorated by kids. A contest to see who could make the best screen would get a little PR. An auction at some event could be used to sell the entries. Cheaper, mass produced ones could be offered with logos and the number of the group (free pr in every car that uses it).
This won't make a ton of money but it might be a fun project for those helpful scout groups.
