13th today - no, 12th now! - yayhoo ZooToo!

Still climbing upward (went from 13th to 12th while I was working on here this evening), though the daily progress is slowing down. It's so amazing that with all the shelters in the whole country, ours has the support to be ranked 12th! And I've said it before, Parkersburg's shelter is still in the top 20 (16th today), so that in itself is pretty amazing and I'm happy for them, also.
The thing is, we're closing on the end of the contest (just 8 more days), and if we hold on, we're guaranteed a minimum prize of $5k, which is awesome. Think what that would buy! And the higher we can get ranked, the less likely it is that we'll get bumped from the top 20! I'm so psyched.
On the down side, I overdid the work this week/weekend, between volunteering at the shelter Friday and working at the Belpre Holiday Lights on Saturday, so I paid for it the rest of the weekend. It really sucks not being able to do as much as I'd like, but I do what I can.
I submitted an idea to the other Belpre Holiday Lights Festival committee members at our monthly business meeting last Monday to do a light display for the HSOV shelter this year, and they liked the idea. Pretty good chance we'll do one, and Cheryl already authorized the use of the logo from the web site as the basic design for the display. Our animator thought it would be a good idea to maybe have the dog and cat chase each other back and forth across the top of the display, so we'll see if we can get that working.
