Broccoli

I know broccoli is healthy, & for some odd reason Toby loves it, the others eat it because they see him enjoying it but Toby will beg for it if he sees it & if I don't notice him first he lets me know. For a long time I only fed them home cooked meals, now I feed them commercial pet food part of the time. Maybe that's when he got a taste for human foods, or maybe he's craving 'greens', fresh grass isn't available year round & it's been a while since I tried growing them some indoors. They chewed on it before it matured so I don't have much luck geowing it. But there's always broccoli, if not in season, frozen & steamed tender-crispy is a favorite. Come to think of it, I sometimes crave broccoli myself.

My daughter's 13 year old Schnoodle will eat just about anything except crawfish. She can be sleeping at the other end of the house and you start to quietly peel potatoes and there she is begging for potato peels. She eats all meats and veggies and fruit. She loves oranges and lemons. It is really something to see her eat a piece of lemon. She takes it in her mouth, chews 2 or 3 times, and swallows, then begs for more.

My cat loves broccoli. He always tries to swat some off my plate. And if you try to take a piece away from him he chomps it down really really fast.

Greens are great for dogs. My dog loves crunchy lettuce (iceberg is best but the ribs from romaine are good too) and green beans. She likes most veggies, but will not touch a mushroom and cucumbers are not a favorite. Just make sure you don't feed them too much of it at once or you may cause some tummy trouble. Best to use sparingly as a treat. Dogs are omnivores after all, so they enjoy some vegetation in their food.

Glad he doesn't like mushrooms, they can do damage to a dog.

Somewhere in my older Journal Entries is one about Wiggles' and my love of vegetables. We both enjoy green beans, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, peas, cauliflower, carrots, potatoes, asparagus, and more! When Wiggles is chewing on a baby carrot, he sounds like he's crunching a Ruffles potato chip!!

Aran loves fresh veggies. Carrots are her favorite, but she will eat just about anything. As a matter of fact, Aran will eat anything that falls on the floor.

My dog loves broccoli ends (not the flowers), raw or cooked. He also likes green beans, cabbage, green/red/yellow peppers, carrots, and the crisp ends of lettuce. He used to eat the large, crisp ends of celery, but for the past three or so months, he is spitting it out.

I guess dogs really do take after they're owners.
