I'm so elated the contest is over, and we stayed in the top 20 (14th at the finish, though the validation process is bound to shift the rankings a little). And I'm glad to see that Parkersburg ended 18th, hope they don't drop any during validation.
That is actually very newsworthy, and I submitted a news item online to The Parkersburg News & Sentinel and The Marietta Times.
I can see this process turning into much more than just the ZooToo contest. If we can get a good celebration event planned and executed maybe extra publicity for the shelter and extra donations, maybe we can turn it into a regular event to benefit the shelter and keep in touch with each other.
