I'll get you, you wascally wabbit!

We had just gotten back from vacation, had picked up the dogs from where we board them and let them out into the backyard. It was evening. Rosie flies off of the deck in a shot and Sam after her. They were on the trail of a bunny. Those bad bunnies had taken over the yard. We had been gone for a week and the bunnies were having a gay old time. I can see Rosie and Sam both tracking the bunny all over the yard. At one point Rosie herded the bunny over to where Sam was waiting. Of course I am running around the yard in high heels screaming "no" Sam, "no" Rosie. First the bunny crashed into the gazebo and headed off into the opposite direction and then crashed into the shed, where it staggered around dazed. Of course the dogs pounced on the poor bunny but I got them to drop it soon enough and got both of them by their collars and dragged them into the house. I went out back to check on the bunny but he wasn't seriously hurt and must have hopped off, he was nowhere to be found. Now you would think that the bunnies would known better because I have two dogs who are out in the backyard quite often. So one morning I go out there to work in the yard and Rosie starts sniffing at the base of one of the sedum plants. Well, some dumb bunny is building a nest there. So I take out all of the material and throw it away. Well the next morning that bunny went back to the same spot and started building a nest again. So again I dispose of all the nesting materials and continue to do this for a couple days before the bunny gets the idea to move on. So far so good, no more nests in the yard, but....they started building a nest in the neighbors yard and when the dogs and I were over visiting, Rosie found the nest with babies and there I was again, chasing the dogs screaming "no" Sam, "no" Rosie. I got them by the collars and dragged them home but not before another dog got one of the babies. So is the call of the wild.
