Rabbit Toys

While I have no problem finding toys for my dog and cats, rabbit toys tend to pose a problem. I often find myself checking out cat toys, ferret toys, bird toys and even baby toys for my rabbits. My rabbits tend to play with toys as much as my dog does and much more often than my cats do but there is a very poor variety that are labeled specifically for rabbits. My toy box for my rabbits is as big as my toy box for my dog and I find myself switching them out often so that they don't get bored.

Our favorite rabbit toys so far have come from the bird aisle of pet stores and baby sections of stores. Key rings, link chains, and rattles that can be picked up by buns are the best. In the bird aisle we've gotten a few treasures including a hanging toy with bell, key ring and cups. Another favorite was the small grass nesting cup or small animal grass hideaway. These are too small for rabbits to crawl in but I've stuffed them with hay and the rabbits like to throw these around.

Willow baskets, balls and small wreaths are also great rabbit toys. Other "outside the box" toys include wooden kitchen utensils. And speaking of boxes - those are fun too!
