Dylan - Bob, not Thomas - Question
I recently came into possession of about 20 Bob Dylan records from the 1960s to the early 1980s. Records, not CDs, the original vinyl stuff. Yes, there's a copy of Blonde on Blonde (with pictures of the band in the inside cover, not the women), no copy of Blood on the Tracks (but I had a very used one before).
I have never been a big Dylan fan but I couldn't turn down rescuing vinyl from a friend who no longer had a record player or an interest in holding onto the LPs.
So, my question is, how do I go about introducing myself to the Bob in a way that won't frustrate me? As with all artists, some albums are better than others. Do I start from the beginning and play through? Listen to the live and greatest hits albums first and then explore?
What's the best Bob album from this time period to start with?

I also would suggest to listen to songs and if you dont like them, then skip them. You don't have to like every song by ethe artist to enjoy the artist. you know? People tell me then I am not a "true fan" but I just think I am a big girl that can likes and dislikes. etc.

So I don't know/care about what the artist is trying protray. I personally, don't get "messages" from music either. I like the tune, the beats, the guitar, the singing style, or I skip. Hahaha. Sometimes people tell me they were "touched" by music or something, which can happen, but I think those peopel are looking for meaning. I look for meaning in books.
