Tippy Attacks!

It's difficult when you think you acquired a cute puppy and he turns out to be a vicious mongrel, stalking and attacking everything that crosses his path with deranged determination and a killer instinct. Thank goodness Tippy is not that way!

Amy has her paws full teaching Tippy the proper etiquette of being a puppy and respecting his elders, and recognizing his place in the household. I think human parents could learn a lot from watching dogs! They would learn that a nip does not always work, and sometimes it takes a good, strong bite on a leg or ear. They would learn that when baby climbs on you and sinks needle teeth into your ear, that you have to take quick and decisive action. They would learn that a headstrong unwillingness to be low man on the totem pole can be eventually corrected with some serious wrestling and some very well-placed bites. Think how much better adjusted we would all be if we had such an upbringing!

At least Tippy is learning the difference between chew toys and my stuff. No serious damage to anything yet, hopefully by the time he starts teething he will know what is off-limits. And he is quickly turning into a big fat liar, learning that the "Ow! You've mortally wounded me, I surrender!" yelp can be employed all the time to confuse the enemy.

And in just the time it took me to write all this, Smokey walked across me twice, and Amy flipped Tippy onto my bare feet where he scratched me with his claws (time for some claw snipping).

I wish I could still zoom up and down the hallways like Tippy does!
