The 'One Eyed Squint'

The One-Eyed Squint ("Go ahead, flash it NOW!")
Zac definitely has become "camera smart" and knows when to turn away to avoid the flash. A few times, I have managed to fool him, but he mostly fools me by pretending to not notice the camera then suddenly turning away at the precise moment to avoid a good photograph.

Sometimes he squints or closes both eyes and then takes a quick peek to see if I'm done yet or about to take more photos. My camera has a "smart card", but I need a camera that has a "pet card"--something that will trick the pet into not closing his/her eyes.

Zac is a handsome dude. No kidding, Michele. He's the cat's meow.

I know what your're talking about. My cats have become wise to the flash also.
Your kitty is cute!

You need to try OldWetHen's suggestion of wearing a cat toy on your head. The cat will look up at you and keep its eyes open--until the cat pounces your head. A toy that has a moving part is the best. I use the cat bongo toy--a puffy ball on a coiled spring attached to a carpeted piece of wood.
Or get someone else to take photos--someone Zac won't expect to get blinded by the flash. I can work on consignment for you. Your British lottery winnings should suffice as payment.

Yes, I agree. I've had requests for photos of me with a cat toy on my head.

I never put cat toys on my head--I only go as far as pet carriers.

Hahaha! A pet card! I love it! I have created a monster when it comes to taking pictures. Every time I pick the camera up, there's Kittles ready to pose! lol

You should talk to Mom as Sadie is VERY good at avoiding the camera all together. Mom can never get her to "hold still" long enough to flash a decent one. Hence, Sadie's Halloween pic with me holding her. You'd think Zac would want to pose since he is such a beautiful cat!!

I'll have to email some pics I took today. Sadie and Max are real "winners". LOL.
