The Full Moon & Dogs

OK, we've all heard about the hospitals packing up when it's a full moon and people getting a little wacky, but how about the dogs? Tonight is the full moon and rest assured, a good portion of your pets are probably going to be a little off today too! Every month for 2 or 3 days around the full moon the dogs in my training classes are just not themselves. Some are more frisky, some have a hightened awareness of noises and movement around them, some are just not as focused as usual, but I can always lay a little blame on the full moon. Last night I noticed it again. I had classes in the evening and the people were different, the dogs were off so I looked up at the sky and there it was. So is there some kind of scientific answer for this? I'm not sure, but I'll be circling this day on my calendar from now on!

I agree that there is a change around the full moon. The dogs are so much friskier at dog school around the time of the full moon. The last full moon, two of my own dogs got into a huge fight which I actually had to pull them apart. They had never been in a fight before and haven't since, but maybe I should be ready tonight.
