Kelsie's scared of the thunder

Today we had a little thunder, and Kelsie was fit to be tied. She was very scared, to the point of shaking and getting upset when her Papa left to do some work. I think she was afraid he would get hurt. I'm not sure if she's ever heard thunder before, we've only had her for 8 months. I'm not exactly sure what kind of life she had before we adopted her from HSMC. She was 2 yrs. old then. In any case, she just doesn't know how to handle all that noise form the thunder. So I made sure that she knew she was safe and that nothing was going to happen and now she's taking a little nap, so she must feel some kind of peace. I'm just glad that I'm able to be with her a lot and make sure that she is reassured that all is well, especially in times like this.
