Kelsie's new mischievous deed

I THOUGHT I had this getting into the trash issue fixed, when I got a trash can with the lid, which worked for a COUPLE DAYS. The puggy princess has learned how to flip the lid of the trash can up so she can get in the trash. I caught her the this evening! I come around the kitchen corner just in time to see her hop down from the trash can, licking her lips, and run over by her food bowl and sit like nothing was going on. She didn't think I had seen the first part where she had hopped down from the trash can. But as soon as I pointed out the the lid was still up, she come over to me, with her wagging curly tail, like "it wasn't me, really." Back to the drawing board, to conjure up PLAN B.

I had to get a metal can with a lid that will only open if you step on the level on the floor. You can get it at Walmart. They are nice.

Just don't get a cat that helps her! My previous dogs, Red and Bluto, had never gotten into the garbage, then came along THE CAT! Mind you, I didn't know at the time that he was the instigator; all I knew was that out of the blue I was finding the kitchen trash can knocked over, and my dogs having a snack. Then one day, I entered the room at the exact moment that our new addition jumped up on the can at exactly the right angle to knock it over. The dogs were there in a second, having a field day with their partner-in-crime! This cat (DJ), by the way, also thought nothing of jumping in between two big dogs when they were having a little spat to break them up. Needless to say, DJ ruled the roost!

I know what you mean. One of my dogs can open drawers and cupboards so nothing is safe.

Come on Beaglepawz, tell it all. The dog knows that the best way to wax the floor is open a bottle of olive oil and play in it.

The metal trash can with the level sounds like a good idea, will have to see about getting 2 of them, since Kelsie gets in the kitchen and bathroom trash. Both trash cans currently have a lid, but as you read, she has foiled that plan.

Oh my gracious, Beaglepawz, your dog got into the olive oil?! How on earth did that...Well since she can open drawers and cupboards, I guess anything is possible! LOL That's too funny, but I bet it was a pain to clean up.
