Lastnight I met the Blessed Mother Teresa face to face....okay not the one you are probably thinking of but the beautiful grey and white feline mother of 5 who is named Mother Teresa Aka "Tess" who has resided with my good friend Carol for the past 3 years along with her son Leo (whom she is not fond of) and Hudson, Diesel and Troy. Carol tells me that SHE is Tess' ONLY friend and that Tess has never allowed anyone other than Carol to come anywhere near her let alone touch her. Here comes the miracle folks...Kevin and I were visiting Carol lastnight, sitting by the bonfire in the backyard enjoying a glass of wine and Carols entertaining stories of her life when the fire started to die and Carol decided to go into the garage to get more wood for the fire...while she was gone, Tess came closer to me and as I reached down she rubbed her face against my hand, as I started petting her she began to rub up against my leg and then darted back out to the yard as she heard Carol open the garage door to come back. I was sooo excited that she let me pet her I couldn't wait to tell Carol...of course she didn't believe me when I told her and Kevin had to verify the event for me. She again stated (and I quote) that "NOBODY HAS EVERY TOUCHED TESS EXCEPT ME". Once Carol sat back down, Tess ventured back over to me for some more attention, and I asked if she thought I could pick her up, Carol just laughed and said "Hahaha, you could try, good luck with THAT". I was a little leary at first so I continued to pet her and then I finally picked her up and to my amazement she immediately began to purr, she let me kiss her on her face and hold her and pet her and didn't even try to get away. I was in heaven as I have always caught a brief glimps of Tess while visiting Carol but never gotten close enough to actually get a good look at her, and she really is beautiful and she has the softest coat I have ever felt, what a gorgeous girl she is. Thanks Tess for making my night one to remember.
