I find that cat nip is good in numerous ways for my 9 year old cat, Klyo. She used to scratch on anything besides he scratching post. Once I put some organic cat nip on her scratching post she loved it. I still put it on her scratching post from time to time to keep her attention and it get's her to exersize.
