Bach Rescue Remedy Day 1

I applied 4 drops of Rescue Remedy to the inside of Billy's ear last evening. He wasn't acting too stressed. He was cheek marking my bare foot, and lying down on the floor next to me while I was on the computer.

So, far, no improvement.

This morning, Billy vomitted twice and two pees outside the litter box in my daughter's room. Billy did pee on the dog crate plastic liner that I had placed in the corner, so that was easy to clean up. He also peed on a T-shirt that my daughter had tossed on the floor and had only been there for 2 hours before I saw the wet stains on it.

A couple days ago I noticed someone had peed in my pricey, woven, pink cat bed. I put that in the washing machine. I can't imagine all the spots on the carpetting that I might be missing. I considered getting a black light to detect the urine markings, but don't know if I am brave enough.

So, looking at Kirby shampooing. I may be shampooing every week at this rate. If I close off my daughter's room, I think that I will only displace the peeing to somewhere else.

Hi Debra! I guess Billy has been checked for any urinary or bladder problems??

Maybe try a Comfort Zone plug-in near where Billy hangs out the most....

Yes, the vet found blood, but no stones, crystals or white blood cells to indicate infection. Diagnosis: idiopathic cystitis probably due to stress. Too many other kitties? There are times when Billy seems totally relaxed and comfortable.

I also put out a litter box with different litter in it, which every cat wants to use now.

Entering the 3rd day. I put the drops in one of the water bowls. Believe I am still getting pee in my daughter's room, just in a different corner. Billy has become like a ferret peeing in corners.
Not sure the remedy is solving my problem with Billy's out-of-box experiences.

Poor Billy. He certainly needs to learn how to talk so he can tell you what the problem is. Thank heaven you are such a kitty lover and so patient. How many people in this world would just get rid of him. I hope you get this figured out.

This is the number one reason cats are returned to the shelter for failing to use the litter box properly. Billy hasn't peed on any of my clothes yet, but I know better than to leave them lying on the floor. I am going to try a box with different litter, but then I fear all the cats will want to use that one box and not use the others. I had a litter box in my daughter's room before, but don't really want to put one back in there.

I have absolutely no suggestions but what would happen if you did close her bedroom door and put a fresh litter box with a different litter right outside her door in front of the door? I imagine you have already tried that.

Have you tried different types of litter? I had a cat once who peed in the shower stall instead of using the litter she'd been using exclusively in the room she'd had before- all in the same house. Changing the litter cleared it right up. Other things that have been working with the growing ex-ringworm kittens are adding more boxes, and getting upset in a way they directly associate with out-of-box events. I found a hooded bed with 5 piles of poop in it, voiced my horror, and immediately set them up with an extra box with a different type of litter. Knock on wood- not a single problem since then. In the other room, we have one little guy who pees on one bed- which is now gone. And he peed in every single cardboard box bed, so I started making inverted box beds with a back glued on. He leaves the "chaise lounges" alone. I know you've tried a million different things, but I'm just suggesting some non-standard thoughts that have worked for me.

And I've only heard of using RR orally- direct in the mouth or in water. Is direct-in-the-ear supposed to diffuse through thin ear skin?

Actually it can be added to the drinking water or onto a treat, or applied to the paw, nose or ear. I thought I'd try the direct application so I know that Billy got a dose. I will try adding to drinkin water and then lots of them can get a sampling, but I have several black ones that paw the water out of the bowls.
