A Little Time

Buedro came to me lonely. His mate had died a month before and he had been grieving badly. He had stopped eating and became to noisy for his owner. He rubbed his beak across the cage all the time and exhibited signs of this grieving by weight loss and his beak was worn from the cage rubbing.
When they entered the foyer of the apartment, he heard Gator playing with me. He became so excited he was jumping up and down in his cage with his little feet wiggling with joy. Upon seeing the Disney Land for birds I had going on and the joy of Buedro - His owner just opened the cage. Needless to say, the little fellow has been ecstatic every since.
He loves to come visit me while I work. He likes bananas. He likes a good bath in warm water. Playtime is stressful for him as he hasn't been handled very well. He is amazed at the games Gator and I play and mimics the sounds she makes although he has not connected that they also have a meaning like she has. He is 4 years old though and I have had him a little over a month and he is doing quite well. He loves the tree and the swing. I put all sizes of tree branches in for perches and that is big fun. There are also swinging ropes and rope bridges to cross almost everywhere in there play area. I have 2 big branch bridges also - and sooooo many toys, some bought and some homemade. He is coming along and with a little time he will be just fine. Oh and he has gained 4 grams since he has came here. You can't keep him out of the food bowls - haha! All you see is his little butt sticking up out of the big tray - it is adorable. Magi Jean
