I'm not quite sure what we were thinking when staff scheduled a boy scout troop tour at 11:30AM on a Saturday (the shelter opens to the public at noon). I was startled to see all of the cars in the parking lot when I showed up, but I thought maybe we'd doublebooked the green to blue class and a field walking class or something.

When I wandered inside with my pitcher of ice tea and container of cookies I stopped dead when I saw the hoard of small boys (I believe it was a cub scout troop primarily) and adults completely blocking the back hallway. To be fair, there was no way they could avoid doing so because it was a very large group. However, once we opened to the public, things didn't slow down. The kennels and cat colony rooms were jammed for the first hour or so, and it was actually nearly impossible to walk dogs!

We got some very good adoptions yesterday though, so I'll just be happy for the lucky pups and try to forget that I nearly walked Jasmine through a group of younger kids, completely forgetting that she's spooked by children.
