Krista joined me on the trek to my parents' house for my birthday yesterday because Dad wanted a calm dog that wouldn't upset Guffy and trigger another seizure. Suzu really wanted to come, too, but we limited it to just the one dog, and I figured that Krista could use the extra socialization. However, this is the first outing to someone's home where Krista was alone without another dog as a buffer. She'd also been a little shell-shocked by having a male visitor in my home Saturday night aka invasion of the safe space. Then Mom dragged me off on an errand with her, and Krista had to stay at my parents' house alone with Dad! She decided to go hide underneath the breakfast nook and just lay low, similar behaviour to what she showed in the one month she was adopted (she hid under the couples' bed when the husband was around), but Dad thought it was adorable that she could keep to herself and be quiet rather than getting upset.

Irony of ironies is that now DAD'S saying that if Krista could get used to him, maybe he and Mom should adopt her as a companion for Lucky once Guffy dies since Lucky needs another dog, but he's a cranky old man and doesn't care for many (he actually tried to play with Krista a little). Seems like everyone is realizing how great a dog Krista is!
