What a Can of Worms
9 comments
Boy, I feel like I opened a major can of worms when I wrote my journal titled "long distance adoptions".
Usually when I wrote my journals, they are for me, but I don't mind if folks read them. And if folks comment fine, I don't mind.
But it got me thinking about all the shelters/rescues here on zootoo and the difference in thought about each of our own shelters and about other shelters. You can see it in comments and journals that folks write including myself.
And that got me thinking that we are all here for the same reason, we love animals and want to help them.
So what if your way is different than my way, that is what makes us human. And if your way is different than my way, I would hope we can have the compassion and kindness to look at why it is different and either learn from it or offer suggestions to better it.
There is never really a wrong way, just a different way, a different thought. But keep in mind the end result, helping the animals find good, loving homes and to care for them until that time.

that all of the "Betty's" wrote reviews and racked up the points. Girl, get some sleep for crying out loud. And quit opening those cans of worms...they probably aren't spayed and neutered and you're going to end up with more worms. :)
FYI - met a woman from New Hampshire last summer who visited our shelter and was confirming all we hear and know about the northeast. She said finding a mixed breed puppy there was like finding a needle in a haystack and that she was aware they often looked to areas west for finding animals. What a terrific problem to have...I hope one day we can be so devoid of animals in our shelter we'll be pulling animals from somewhere else to help them. How fun would that be???
Now get off the computer and go make some beans. I hear Zootoo is coming to visit again and you better have plenty of beans.
Looking forward to Orlando and meeting the rest of our crazy family!!!!

I like provoking thought and making folks think. That is how we all learn. And I love opening up a can of worms, however don't ask me to pick one up. They are just gross and I won't do it. Not even to spay/neuter them.
The northeast have it right. We need to get the Midwest whipped into shape. Some day, we will by working together.
And now Carrie, don't tell all our secrets. After all, the beans for zootoo day was in mine dream which I hope never to sit up in bed and say "we need beans for zootoo." But the remote in the fridge is your secret and it was not a dream.
See you in Florida.

It was really funny this morning cause Cindy had me in a frenzie that they were coming and Carrie knows about it.
By the way if I panicked your shelter with my call to you, telling her what was up. The girl on the phone was like "what, they are coming back, what, Carrie knows. I am calling her now."
So I guess turn about is fair play.

I'm so glad tha Zootoo got our shelter together. I know we've talked with The Betty about ways our shelters can work together - we aren't really that far apart.
And the trash compacter? Ooooh, not good.

I agree that every on, every group is different and we shouldacknowledge it and celebrate it.
As for the can of worms, I think it is great to have something that sparks so much dialogue and educates people how different things are in different.
And yes, we're looking forward to seeing to seeing you next week.

And I do love to change folks and make them think. It is how we learn. And no matter the age of topic, you can learn something new.
