Welcome to the family, Tippy!

Yesterday after the ZooToo visit, I heard someone say that the numerous puppies currently in the shelter would not all make it out, and I had a premonition that the one I had seen and liked would not make it out unless I took him home. So I gave in to an urge and took home a delightful little puppy that was begging for a home. He's a Husky mix, from a litter that looks like it has 3 or 4 bloodlines, including Husky, Border Collie, Golden Retriever, and maybe Australian Shepherd. The first three are certain, the last a guess, but that litter may have had more than one sire!
Tippy was named by someone else in front of the shelter, they pointed out his white-tipped tail and said he should be named Tippy. That was the name of my mother's farm dog when she was young, so the name stuck.
Tippy is a burly, bold little guy. He has huge paws and a short, curled-up tail, thick soft fur, and a wide, stocky body. He was the biggest of the litter (sadly I learned that my premonition came true and all of his remaining littermates contracted Parvo shortly after I took Tippy home), and is a pretty demanding fellow. He still misses his litter mates, but only 24 hours later has already learned to tell me when he needs to go outside and after protesting for 5 minutes usually settles right down when I put him in his pen area (actually my kitchen, which is pretty small and has an old linoleum floor). After one week he is cage trained at night and knows to hold himself until I take him out.
This little fellow already seems smart, bold, and friendly. Amy has started mothering him (took a little while for that instinct to kick in). Smokey was scared of him at first, but now has taken to watching him like he can't figure him out. I figured Smokey would be the first one to reach out to the new guy, but it was actually Amy! Well, he's crying to go out again, so off we go!
