Today Was A Good Day

Today at the shelter was a good day. I helped get three cats adopted and the other adoptions counselors and caregivers also got several adoptions. But, Yippee! The best one was Edwina! She has been at the shelter for almost eleven months and today a man came to adopt her. He would have come sooner but he was waiting until he bought his house and got moved in. Does he like Edwina? He has had her photo as the screen saver on his computer for a couple of months and that would hint to me that he really wants her.

What a wonderful story with a happy ending. I was on the Best Friends website and read a story of Cash who was brought to best friends as a 4 week old stray with FIV (I think it was) Cash has spent the last 19 years at best Friends and was just recently adopted into his furrever home. Some things are worth waiting for. And stories like these give me hope for my babies and all the others at the shelter who are longer residents or special needs.

That is wonderful news for all who got adopted, but especially little Edwina! Sounds like this man really loves her...some things are meant to be.

The man who adopted Edwina talked to one of our volunteers at a Farmers Market in June and said he wanted to adopt Edwina but the landlord of the house he was renting then wouldn't allow pets so he would have to wait. People came to the shelter and walked past Edwina from June until October without choosing her. So Edwina stayed there until he was able to come and adopt her! Yes, God does work in mysterious and wonderful ways!
