My Tabitha

My little Tabitha was saved by a former Little Shelter staff. She bottle fed her until she was unable to care for her anymore. She was about 3-4 weeks old when she was brought to Shelter and I said I would take her home and care for her until she was ready to be adopted. Well she was such a little sweetie and I figured I would end up keeping her as we fell in love with her. She loved our dogs, other cats and any other person who would pet her and give her attention.
Then along came a box of kittens and a mother cat. One Kitten could not stand on her own. She would step and fall and the rest all appeared healthy. I took this Kitten home (emma) because there was no one else at the time who could take care of her. After being checked out by vet it was assumed she was a CH Kitten. (More About Emma Later) Emma was a very special little girl and I pretty much figured it would be almost impossible to find her a good home. It was going to be a lifelong disability and not a lot of people would be willing or want to take on this committment. We also found the Emma was scared to death of any other people, animals, cats, dogs, and any different or loud noise. She would be unhappy anywhere other than my home (at least at first and it would be a very difficult change for her) She also became very attached to another one of my foster kittens that was about the same age as her. The other foster "hannah" would actually cover up her poopies after using the litter box. Emma had problems using the litter box. Anyway....... After Emma came into our life we decided the best thing to do would be to give up Tabitha to a good (approved) home. Tabitha was the type of kitten who would easily adjust to a new situation, family etc. She loves everyone and unlike Emmaa we felt she would be happy with another family that took good care of her and showed her lots of love. We also felt it would be better then to keep her and have too many cats and not be able to spend enough time with them. We loved her dearly and it was on of the hardest things I had to do. We found a wonderful couple that had no pets, but wanted to adopt two cats / kittens. So now Tabitha is in her new home with Reese another cat saved by Little Shelter and both have adjusted very well and are very much loved. I keep in constant contact with their new parents and although we miss her, we know we made the right decision.
