My new friend

When I woke up yesterday morning the last thing I thought would happen was that I would go to bed owning another dog. I have an 8 year old Chihauhau named Sugar and a 3 year old yellow lab named Rex. Never did I dream I would want another dog. But when I went to check the mail there was a door hanger on my door from a Century 21 agent named Rosa Jiminez was advertising for her animal rescue group and had two pictures of dogs in need of homes. As soon as I laid eyes on Nacho's picture I knew I had to have him. I filled out the application, spoke to Rosa several times on the phone and she brought him to my house that same day. It is amazing how well he fits in with my other dogs and how loveable and snuggly he is. Why on earth would ANYONE not want him? It took a little adjusting for Rex, but we took them to the park in my neighborhood so they could be on neutral grounds and rewarded good behavior. After a few walks around the block and they were fine! They even slept in the same doggy bed last night. Nacho is a mix of my other dogs personality-playful, frisky and loves to play tug like Rex. Loveable, snuggly and gives lots of love back like Sugar. He has already been dubbed "Prince Nacho" in our house. My kids adore him and my 10 year old loves to take him for walks! Sugar was a puppy that was born to a Rat Terrier dog named Ruthy, whose owner had no business owning ANY pets. I found out through friends he was going to kill the remaining dogs so I went and got the last two (Sugar and Spice) My mom took Spice! Rex was a dog that came up to my brothers house in the country in Mississippi. They tried to find his owner but never located them. We were visiting from TX for Christmas and my husband and I fell in love with him, that is how Rex became a resident of TX. And now we have Nacho, who has had it rough but I think now that he has found his "real" home and we will all be happy together. I think he thinks we're pretty cool humans!
