Gil is a laidback, middle aged (~ 5yrs), pit bull terrier mix who originally came in as a stray to an animal hospital in May for a laceration repair on the lateral side of his neck (the wound opening looked like a fish gill, hence his name). With his delightful mood, love of kisses, and crawling in people’s laps - it didn’t take him long to win over the hearts of the staff! Now, he’s all healed up and looking for his forever home.

This charming, handsome fellow is very social-able, submissive, and well mannered – he loooves affection, cuddling, and belly rubs – but he’s not at all pushy about it. He’s also small & compact (weighing in at only 31 lbs) making this portable pocket pit mix perfect for apartment & city living! Plus, he’s not a high energy dog and doesn’t have any extra exercise requirements. He’d much rather curl up on someone’s nice comfy couch or lap. He gets along well with most dogs so if you have one, let’s arrange for a meet and greet to see if they along. He’s a bit too interested in cats though, so he would do best in a feline free environment. He’s currently still being boarded in a kennel but this poor guy isn’t very happy spending his days in a cage. He gets stressed being cooped up all day and he's been in a kennel for almost half a year- yikes! :-( Can you be the one to break him out and give him the loving home he craves & deserves?

Gil is housetrained, neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, & on heartworm preventative. He is currently located in Jersey City, NJ. Adoption contract with references and fee required.
