I love dogs

I do love dogs! I have four and would have more if my spouse had the love for animals that I do! Two of the four were adopted at the Wilkes County Animal Shelter and the other 2 were free puppy ads. First of all, let me tell you, there are no free puppies. Lacy, our first free puppy, was adopted on Veteran's day. Her mother had been abandoned by the previous owner and her lot mate had died before the kind gent found her and she had 11 puppies of which Lacy was one. Of course after puppy shots, spaying and so fourth, and lots of puppy chow, she was no longer a free puppy, but she was Jonathan's my son's puppy. Then there was Samson, my second free puppy ad. I had never seen a more pitiful bunch of puppies in my life. In the hot of September, they were in a dirt lot with no food or water and you could see every bone on every one of those puppies. They hadn't been socialized, they hadn't even been fed. They were flea covered and starving. I only took one, and I have always hoped and prayed that the rest of that litter found homes. At 80 plus pounds he is no longer hungry, but he has bad hips that must be treated with joint supplements daily and arthritis shots monthly and he is only 2 years old, so he was hardly a free puppy either and we aren't even counting puppy shots, and neutering. The other two, Riley, came from the pound and he looks like a pembrooke welsh corgi, and he is also spoiled rotten. Lily we got last from the pound, but she also thinks she is a Princess and she is just as rotten, she is australian shepherd and lab. Samson is lab/great pyrenees and Lacy is shepherd /something, but a beautiful dog just the same. My daughter plans to take Riley home with her this spring and I know that I will miss him but I know that my other 3 will keep me busy unless I actually get another one, which I have been thinking of doing.
It's a dog's life, but I do love them all!

Oh my goodness.. I have 3 dogs and two cats. I would have more dogs but my husband says our zoo is large enough! I am thankful there are people like you in the world who will rescue animals. My daughter bought two of mine a welsh corgi/chiuahua mix (spelled wrong) and a chi-pug. All of my dogs are chiuahua mixes.. I think that is wonderful that you have such a great loving heart.
