We're especially pleased when a former shelter waif gets special recognition, such as these recent ones: "Oreo" (companion/guardian angel of disabled former coach, attends games and is mascot of football team), "Caesar" (starred as Toto in high school production and became the talk of the town), "Shaggy" (prime example of take-your-dog-to-work, shares office at college of aeronautics where he's mascot).
In 2006 "Olivia" was chosen for artist Larry Merrill's Dog Each Day website in celebration of the Year of the Dog. She was further immortalized when his daily drawings, with information submitted by the owners, then became a book!
