Roz came through for us Adopt A Pet foster parents and baked a cake. A real, live, tactile, frosted cake--not a photo pixel one. I came to Petco and set up my kitties for display, and then drove to Roz's work to pick up the cake that she had in her car. (Roz didn't want her co-workers to learn cake was available but not for them, so we had to be sneaky and transfer cake custody in the parking lot.)

Roz asked that I share with the dog folks, and I did. One person came back and got a number of pieces for the dog people up front. Roz baked it in a disposable foil pan so I don't need to return anything to her. I came equipped with paper plates, plastic forks and a cake knife.

Not too many Adopt A Pet cats today at Petco. I had my black quartet and one other cat, Henry, a big, fluffy orange tabby. Had a few people express some interest in our cats. I have a couple leads for my crew. Everyone finds the black quad gorgeous. Two young girls were petting and hugging on Rocket, who was well-behaved for some time, but every cat has her limits. Rocket wanted some cake--well, she definitely wanted the butter cream frosting. I put Rocket back in the display crate since she was getting hissy with the little girls. So, maybe a home with very young kids might not be ideal. Rocket's brothers just lounge in the cage and don't care what is happening or going on. They wait it out until they get to go home and have wet food.

Another rescue had a passle of kittens for adoption--oh, so cute! Orange tabbies, brown tabbies, solid grey, tortis. I could have been in kitten heaven, but they were set up at the front entrance to Petco and we were in the back room.
