This weekend I watched a show on Animal Planet narrating the story of an abused dog in Houston TX, named Barney. When he arrived at the shelter the dog was shivering and would isolate himself into a corner. It took the local Humane Society volunteer a week to bring Barney's smile and his joy for living back.
