Catt. Co. Shelter Makeover-

The SPCA in Cattaraugus County should definitely win "the million dollar makeover." The staff does a great job with the resources they have, but they don't have much. This shelter is financially strapped. I know it's a common "feature" for shelters to have "off-site foster homes" if they run out of room at the shelter for animals, but it seems like there are an exorbitant amount of these homes here. Dog Food...

With all of the recalls on dog food, as of late, we no longer buy dog food with preservatives or wheat gluten. We try not to by products with corn in them either, because upon researching dog diets, I found out that many dogs are allergic to corn by-products. My advice is to find all-natural dog treats... or better yet, make your own! There are great recipes online for dog biscuits that are quick and easy... and waaay better for your dog than most of the treats you can find on the shelves. read more
