What a Can of Worms

Long Distance Adoptions

Recently, I have been checking out what other shelters do to get adoptions. Seems each has some kind of adoption form folks need to fill out. Some shelters will take a day or two so they can check the app and some look it over for a few minutes and then adopt out the dog. But there are several shelters who do not adopt out of state. BEAGLES, BEAGLES, BEAGLES & COONHOUNDS!!!!!

Yes, BEAGLES!!! Living in Madison County most of my life (1 1/2 years in CA), I have learn that beagles and coonhounds are hunting dogs for the most part. This county is filled with hunters, therefore beagles and coonhounds. With working at the shelter, we get in alot of beagles and coonhounds. Most are found out in fields and woods. Why you might ask. A BEAGLE in my DODGE

Since we are all shelter/rescue folks, I know I can vent. I want to vent about folks who just do not understand how or what it takes to adopt an animal. Our humane society operates the county shelter and I think folks think they can get a pet cheap. After all, it is still the dog pound in their eyes. However, it is not that way.
