The quest

Into each life span there must fall a grand and noble quest. For some it is the journey to foreign lands or glory. The pursuit of knowledge and the hope for wisdom are the lofty goals of others. Me? A quick jig over to the drug store to grab some potato chips, patootie goo and a paper shredder. Things have begun to quiet down a little. Henry FINNALY slept through the night. Snoggle and Fluzzy are happier since they snuck onto the computer and voted against Henry in Pet Wars. Pooka is st… read more

Caught!

I took the lid off a pail that litter comes in to try and give Henry a little training tray to get him used the smell and feel of a box. When I went to pour the unused litter back I noticed a "addition" . Someone had managed to get into the pail and leave a comment. I knew it wasn't me so it had to be one of the girls. I never remember that something so tiny can be so much work. Henry isn't litter trained so he just does what he does. I was suffering from empty cage syndrome yesterday. I took Rumble back to the SPCA on Friday so that she could take part in the special adoption program they had this weekend. The place felt a little empty with four less feet. Then I got a call. Would I be able to take care of another foster? Before Pooka could talk me out of it I agreed and hurried over to pick up the next little visitor. I had a choice this time. I could take the older female who needed a little out of cage TLC bef… read more

Pooka bugs me.... again

I don't know if I jinked Pooka when I named her after a impish little fairy or if she would have acted the same no matter what she was called. I am beginning to think that she WAS made to look so cute because it would help keep her from getting her little neck rung (not that I would). The wall hanging she is looking at in the photo is history. I put it up to teach kittens not to climb curtains. Most of them learned quickly. A couple of shakes and a short fall to a fluffy pillow broke … read more
