We adopted Maya from a local pet store in April of 2005. She was the cute puppy in the window. We almost acted on impulse the moment we first saw her, but since we had a 2 year old and a baby (ended up being babies-twins!) on the way we decided we had better research the breed. When my husband and I decided we wanted to adopt two kittens (one for him and one for me) there was no doubt that we would adopt from a humane society. We kept checking our local humane society, but unbelievably they didn't have any!
