Well visits for Delilah

I took Delilah to the vet last Saturday for her very last puppy shot and her Rabies shot. She was given a clean bill of health. I had already started her on Sentinel Heart worm pills and she is continuing to grow very fast. She now weighs 29.3 pounds. It is amazing how fast she has grown. She is all legs and muscle and has begun hunting with Lily in the mornings so I am very relieved to have her vaccinated for Rabies. In 2 months, I will have her spayed and get her microchipped. Delilah is still growing!

Well yesterday was the third visit to the vet and Delilah is still at the top of the growth charts. She did however, get sick on the way home and lost her breakfast in the car. No breakfast the next trip! She has gained weight to 19.7 pounds. She had no anxiety at all this time and nothing but kisses for the vet! She was the perfect puppy in the waiting room and I fed her no treats at all! read more

Delilah's Second Visit to the Vet

Today I took Delilah for her second visit to the vet. She behaved fairly well on the way there. It was an adventure and she was happy to be riding in the car, just her and mama. Upon reaching the vet, she began crying. I fed her treats and petted her, but she whined and cried and you would have thought she was going to her death. She weighed 12 pounds which means she has gained her weight exactly in the 3 weeks that I have had her. She only weighed 6 pounds when I got her and took her to t… read more

Delilah Gives us a Scare

I was at work and Jonathan called me on Friday with the news that no mom wants to hear. Mama, where is Delilah? I ask him what he is talking about and he says well, I have looked everywhere and she is not here. I get him to explain everywhere and tell him a few more places to look. Well, call me crazy, but I got another puppy. She is a pit bull mix. I named her Delilah and she is showing herself to be very intelligent. I took her to the vet yesterday, she got her first shots and was wormed. She was born on March 13,2008, so she is just now 6 weeks old. She did well last night, didn't cry and didn't cry when she left her mom and siblings. She got her first bath because she was filthy and is now beautiful.
