Jumper show

So...today I took Brett and Dakorem (a clients horse) to the Atlanta Summer Classic to do the jumper schooling classes. It was a great experience for Brett! He is a wonderful horse with lots of talent and just needs experience. I did the 3'3 and 3'6 class. He showed a lot of progression from one class to the next, staying soft and relaxed, got his changes, and turned real smoothly. He also walked quietly around the busy show grounds. This was Dakorem's first show and is sti… read more

Update

We will be heading to a schooling show at Poplar Place this weekend. Brett will be running the Training CT and another show jumping course; Dakorem (a horse in training) will run the novice CT; and Revere and Mensa will run the Intermediate HT and school X-Country. We have a trailer load going! But it will be a great time. I will keep you updated! read more

Staying cool

With the summer heat and humidity reaching the south, its time to think about staying cool. We begin riding each day by 7, being done with all the horses by 12. Summer Show Season

Well we have had our month off between spring and summer and are now getting ready to start the summer shows. We were suppose to start at surfire at the end of June but I think are going to bypass that and attend a schooling show in Ga the weekend after and then Maui Jim in IL the weekend after. Many of the horses at the farm are suppose to move up this summer, so it should be an exciting time. I also have 3 young horses I will be showing, which is always fun. 1 has never competed, one has o… read more

Teddy O'Connor

The amazing 14.1 hand pony that beat many fancy bred, talented horses in the sport of three day eventing was just put down due to a serious injury that he received while in the pasture. Sad and trajic not just for him but for any horse, it reminds us horse owners how fragile these animals are. No matter how much the horse is protected, or how much we try to keep them from being harmed, horses are fragile and suseptible to injury. It really makes me, as a horse owner, worry when I see my horse… read more
