It's quiet around here tonight...we're back to being a one-dog household. Our dog no longer has to share our attention with a visitor, nor does he have to look longingly at our visitor's unfinished dinner as she ponders whether it's a meal fit for a queen, before she finishes it off! read more

Today our visiting cousin dog went back home with her mom. Our dog is a little lonely, at having lost his fun playmate. But Isis has already noticed the new tranquility, and has nestled into her favorite living room chair for the evening. If Isis returns inside the house without having caught any rodents outside, the first thing she does is check her food dish to see what it might contain. Her favorite is chicken, prepared and shredded just the way Dad fixes it. If that's not what's in the dish, she might give it a glance and take a sniff before deciding if it's worth her effort… read more

Isis turns her nose up at almost anything in her food dish, except fresh chicken that's been cooked just the way she likes it--boiled with carrots and celery. Once in a great while, she'll stoop to eating canned cat foor...fish might be the current favorite. read more

It's pretty difficult to listen to Isis whining to go "ow-w-w-w-w-t" incessantly, while she's sitting directly in front of you with her unbroken gaze. When the weather's REALLY unsuitable for her venturing outdoors, we revert to "Plan B." That's when we open the BACK door to the fully screened porch, and release her to the "contained wild."
