This time last year, Richard Thompson announced the first-ever ZooToo makeover contest. He created the ZooToo website, and asked us all to join him on this incredible journey to crown one lucky shelter the winner of the $1 million makeover. In return, he financed the grand prize as well as prizes for the other 19 shelters in the Top 20 list. Many ZooTooers have often expressed their sense of helplessness when reading stories of animal abuse on ZooToo news--what could we possibly do to help? As many of you know, I am affiliated with Cat Welfare Association of Columbus, Ohio. But this journal entry is not about my shelter, but about another shelter that is in the direst of needs.
