Young cat with too much energy!

My cat Gracie is almost 20 months old. In the past month, she has decided 5:30am is a wonderful time to get Mommy up. I have added extra play time and put her pieces of her food in different places, so she has to look for her yummies. Around 12:50am Sunday morning, she started crying. I have talked to a behavorist and she made some suggestions, all of which I all ready do. Does anyone have any ideas? I need some input. read more

Hurray for the Erie County SPCA!!!

Gracie here again to tell you about the Cat enrichment program. If my mom hadn't adopted me, one of the volunteers would have spent extra time with me so I would have a better chance of being adopted. If the shelter was bigger, they could have rooms dedicated to socializing scaredy cats like me. Right now, the only room they have is the women's locker room! Gracie here again to tell you how much my mommy loves the SPCA! The number one reason is because she found me there! I am one lucky girl. Mom can't help herself but buy me all kinds of toys and supplies I need to be happy and healthy. This shelter loves its animals, but we are rapidly outgrowing our building! Makeover wish for Erie County!

Gracie here again to tell you why the Erie County SPCA needs this makeover! This shelter has such wonderful community support and has enabled the shelter to remain financially stable for 141 years! What an accomplishment. Our director, Barbara Carr, is very proactive in soliciting more donor support and the staff here really cares about animals. The Erie County SPCA needs more space!!!

Gracie here again to tell you that the Erie County SPCA is a wonderful place with extraordinary staff and special volunteers. My mom volunteers in the Petique where you can buy all the supplies for dog and cats, and also a limited amount of supplies for small animals. Mom says the Petique needs to be bigger, as well as the stockroom. I LOVE small spaces, but Mom does not. She wants to be able to walk into the stockroom and pick out any merchandise and not have to dig for it or worry about me… read more
