TWO possible families for Tinkerbell!

Yea! I am soooooo excited... I got a phone call from a woman this morning who lives about 20 miles away, in a retirement community, who has a little dog and is interested in Tinkerbell. She sounds like a perfect fit, and she's coming over to visit this afternoon. Of course, Atlas was sick last night and puked everywhere, so there are these GIANT puke-stains all over the carpet. I had to get out the steam-cleaner and clean our carpet this morning so I don't scare away the potent… read more

To sleep or not to sleep, the dogs decide for me!

I have no idea what was the matter with Tinkerbell the other night, maybe she had a nightmare and she just needed a little reassurance. Anyhow, she's been a good girl and sleeps quietly in her crate once again. There were many other dogs there, too, in other nearby pens. The rescuers took her, along with 5 other schnauzers, and she's spent the past 3 weeks with them, learning how to be an indoor pet and not a breeding mach… read more

Rescuing a Rescue

I've never been a foster home before, but it looks like there's always a first. My friend in central Illinois has started rescuing schnauzers (Giants and minis) from a horrible horrible "breeder". My friend currently has 9 dogs, 3 of her own and 6 that she recently rescued from this puppy mill. This would be fine, except that my friend's partner has been hospitalized with who-knows-what, they think it might be liver cancer. And 9 dogs for one person is j… read more
