For the first time in many, many months I had nothing planned for the weekend. Until early in the week I received an email from a transport coordinator in California trying to find people to drive legs of a transport of 2 100 pound german shepherds from Beckley to Wisconsin. Congratulatlons Animals of St. Louis

Just wanted to write a quick note for those of you that were not lucky enough to meet Randi from St. Louis Stray Rescue. I can say with great confidence, you could not meet a nicer, more compassionate person and the cause that he serves and Stray Rescue fills in the St. Louis area is extrodinary. Randi's arms show the scars of his efforts if nothing else does. You can rest assured that they are incredibly deserving and that they will do great things with the makeover winnings. Back from Orlando

I can't begin to tell you how great the Animal Care Expo was and that's after we didn't win the million dollar makeover, standing in line for Disney buses, and paying way too much to eat okay food. Heading to Orlando for the big day!

I feel like I need to write to our shelter’s supporters before I leave for Orlando. Tomorrow Stacey and Jan Lincicome and I will be heading out to Orlando for the Animal Care Expo and the announcement of the Zootoo finalists. We are having dinner Wednesday night with the Zootoo crew, Richard and the other 19 shelters (if our flight gets in on time and we can get to their before the party’s over.) Gracie celebrates birthday at HSOP

What a great Saturday we had at our shelter! First it was a beautiful day. Second, a little girl named Gracie celebrated her birthday with us. While not unusual (although I’m always so surprised at the generosity of kids that do this) for a child to have a birthday and request no gifts for themselves and instead request donations from our Wish List for our animals, Gracie asked for something different.
