Danbury Animal Welfare Society deserves a makeover as they are a 30 + year old organization with a long history of success. They have an amazing crew of dedicated volunteers, that is because the entire shelter is run by volunteers! There is a shelter manager and a cleaning crew but no paid staff for organizing, fundraising, events, etc. They adopt out hundreds of cats and dogs annually and have a below normal return rate due to the time and effort that goes into every adoption.
