The story with my old man Charlie is never-ending. He went for his echocardiogram yesterday and I just got the results from the vet. He has benign growths on one of his heart valves. Three vets have told me that surgery is definitey possible for Charlie, but it is not without its risks. My old boy has some spunk left in him so we're going to go for it. He is having an electrocardiogram tomorrow to make sure his heart can withstand the surgery, and then if that is ok we will schedule it. I'm still a nervous nellie and will be… read more

Charlie's blood results came back today and he is in kidney failure. This adds to the confusion of what to do with him. Do I do the surgery, do I not do the surgery....what is best for my little old man???? read more

After psyching myself up for the worst case scenario last night Charlie's visit with the vet went better then expected. She said that she would attempt the surgery since it seems to be just hanging on by skin. She took blood today and then if that comes back ok the next step will be an echocardiogram.
