We took a nice long valentine's nap with Zeke, Baroness and Grayson at the foot of our bed. We also gave the cats some special wet food that we got as a sample. It is cold and snowy here so poor Zeke can't go chase any squirrels, and he didn't get a walk today! read more

While I was doing laundry this morning, Zeke had a squirrel "treed" in our backyard. Zeke sat at the base of the tree, his head fixed at an angle looking up at the tree, while the squirrel chattered and scolded. Here it is, in the middle of February in Colorado and the temperatures have been in the 50s and 60s the past couple of weeks. It has been great weather for walking our dog, Zeke. I recently read a book called "Dewey" by Vicki Myron. It is about a kitten who is abandoned in the library drop box in Spencer, Iowa and becomes the library cat and a symbol of the community. I thought that it was a very heartwarming and fun story about feline antics and the impact an animal can have on a community. I highly recommend it! read more
