Wednesdays are becoming quite the project day at the shelter. Floors scrubbed, cages pulled out, testing, evaluating, and the inevitable paper catch up. Its a good break from the normal routine and gives us that extra time to catch up. read more

The state Health Department has oversight in New Jersey -as well as the local Health Department - inspecting and licensing kennels, shelters, etc. I am curious how this type of permiting is handled in other states. I know in New York it falls under The Department of Agriculture and Markets. What is it like in your state? read more
