As I write this, Louie, who is blind, is outside chasing what he thinks may be some wild animal at the bird feeder. Louie has been with me nearly 3 years now, he was recued from a terrible situation in Dec 2004. Louie was part of a group of nearly 70 animals kept in deplorable conditions, chained outside with a hubcap for a water bowl, waiting for a rainstorm to fill the dirty "bowl" with what became a green sludge passing for water. KC fights on

Little KC was found dumped in a park about 13 months ago. She is a small beagle, much too small to fit into her beagle ears. She is estimated to be about 9 years old and when brought to the West Deer shelter, it was noticed immediately that she didn't drink water, so a trip to the vet was made the next morning, and it turned out that she had a broken jaw.
