I just read in a magazine today that turtles are one of the most common causes of salmonella being spread. Because children are so careless with handling them and not washing their hands the disease spreads. The peanut butter debacle is putting it in the news but turtle/reptile owners and parents in general should keep this in mind always. read more

I'm home today with a sick kid. I used to think that dog poop was the most disgusting thing to have to deal with (especially when it's cold out and said poop is all steamy) but no, vomit tops that. hahaha arent you glad you read this :) read more

I had quite a scare yesterday. I thought my daughter picked up a parasite from the animals she's around. Turns out it's not but it did remind me the importance of keeping your hands clean when dealing with these creatures. Keeps you from getting sick and keeps the animals healthy. read more
